A decorated Sportsman, a respected politician, a successful businessman and one of the most popular, loved and recognized Actor in the World-Arnold Schwarzenegger needs no introduction.

Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger did not get the main lead from his first movie; he acted in few to climb up the ladder like any other struggling actor while he was building shining in the Body Building Career.

He won his first Golden Globe award for his role in his 3rd movie ‘Stay Hungry’ in which Jeff Bridges plays the main lead.  Arnold is playing the role of gym trainer who is preparing for a Mr.Universe competition.

 

Arnold is the man with many Firsts in his name:

Arnold was the first man to win the Mr. Universe competition at the age of 20. He was first person to win Mr.Olympia 7 consecutive times from 1969 till 1975 and then won his 8th Mr.Olymia in 1980.

Arnold also became the first to win Mr.Olympia at the age of 23. He is the only actor who has won 4 Mr. Universe titles.

He participated in 22 Body Building Championships that include Mr.Universe, Mr.Olympia and Mr.Europe and won 19 of them. He stood 2nd in remaining 3. That is one report card you would like to cherish reading again and again.

He was to first civilian to own a Hummer or Humvee. He was so much passionate about Hummer that he convinced the manufacturer’s to produce a version of Hummer for Civilians and he bought the first 2 Hummer H1 from the manufacturer.  Till then Humvee was only accessible to serving armed personnel.

Anything for Passion:

Arnold is known for his passion and love for Body Building, started Body Building at the age of 15, by 17 he was ready to participate in competitions.

At the age of 18, he signed up to join the Army in Austria in 1965 which was a compulsory 1 year service as per the rules in Austria. While serving, he went missing to participate in Junior Mr.Europe competition and came back after winning the same. He was given a Kitchen Duty as punishment after the officers got to know about his victory at the competition else he would have been jailed.

Arnold once shared with a friend that he has 3 dreams:  Going to America, Becoming a Movie Star and Marry a Kennedy. He went to America and became a famous movie star along with achievements in Sports and married Maria Shriver who was related to the Kennedy family. Her mother was sister of J.F.Kennedy-President of the United States of America.

He takes his work very seriously:

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a thorough professional and takes his work very seriously. Arnold signed up for the role of the terminator in the movie ‘The Terminator’. While the role was Negative, it brought Arnold to limelight for his Action sequences.

Arnold went on to sign second part ‘The Terminator2-Judgement Day’ only after he convinced the Directors that he will do the role of playing a lead role of the terminator portrayed as a good person and not the Negative one like in part 1 by creating enough action sequences which makes the character equally strong as part 1.

Arnold’s line “I’ll be back” from the movie became craze. It was originally “ill come back”. Arnold was the one who changed it and rest is all history.

From Rags to Riches, for real:

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the genuine story of people from growing from Rags to Riches.

From a family in Austria that was struggling with finances to a millionaire at the age 22. And this is before he started his film career. Arnold ran his own Bricklaying business at the age of 21 which made him a self-made millionaire and then he went on to become the most popular bodybuilders in the History followed by one of the highest paid actors in the world.

Multiple Careers with top class results:

Arnold started in the Austrian Army, followed by Bricklaying Business in US, a professional bodybuilder, an Actor followed by a Politician.  Arnold has been a top class performer in all the careers that he lived.

Arnold changed his ‘changed name’:

Arnold was looked with doubt on what will work for him in Hollywood. He was too muscular, his Austrian accent was too heavy and his surname was too difficult to pronounce.

He had established himself and his name in the world of Body Building Sports. His name was changed in his first movie ‘Hercules ‘and introduced as Arnold Strong. Arnold was not comfortable with the same and dropped the new name. After that he was known by his original name Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He was minting money and fame:

‘Terminator 2- Judgement Day’ was the most expensive movie ever made till 1991 with a budget of $100 million and earned half a billion dollars in revenue making it one of the most successful action movies.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was paid $21429 for every word he spoke in the movie which totaled into $15 million dollars. And the producer gifted him a Private Jetliner.

Arnold made a fortune for himself over the years and his net worth of $400 million and among the Top 20 richest actors in the world.

He and Stallone were the biggest rivals in the 80s and 90s and surprisingly even Sylvester Stallone has the same net worth today as Arnold’s.

Worldwide name:

Arnold became a household action hero in the 80s and 90s with major blockbusters like the ‘The Terminator’ in 1984 and ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ in 1991.

He also starred in other movies as the leading male actor that made him earn fame worldwide. These were Predator in 1987, Total Recall in 1990 and True Lies in 1994. Arnold also tried his acting skills in the 1996 movie ‘Jingle all the way’, Kindergarten Cop in 1990 and Twins in 1988.

He was loved more for his action flicks than comedy. He was appreciated for his role in ‘Twins’ with Danny DeVito. The movie was a success with first $100 milllion plus revenue movie of Arnold and both the actors made millions not from the fee but from the agreement with producers on 20% of the Box Office revenue for both the actors. The movie as made a budget of $18 million and made Box Office revenue of $216.6 million.
